Please Help Save a Life, Support the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund on an Annual Basis!

"When disaster strikes, the Red Cross is on the scene, providing emergency shelter, food, water and other critical assistance."

* Editor's Update: Sept. 2, 2005 - President Bush has asked that cash be donated to the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army immediately, to aid in disaster relief for hurricane Katrina victims... he also added that additional things can be donated later, right now they need cash donations!  The situation for these people is critical folks, especially in the city of New Orleans which was completely flooded when the levies gave way to the surging storm waters.  Tens of thousands of people are now homeless and stranded all over the city, the Coast Guard is still working endlessly to save people who are waiting on top of their roofs to be rescued.  Some families may never recover from this tragedy, the devastation is traumatizing and catastrophic.  The flood water throughout the city is contaminated with sewage, it's dangerous.  Many have not had any food or water for 5 days.  People are dying in the streets from dehydration... clean drinking water is desperately needed.  Help is on the way, but they probably don't even know it!

PLEASE DONATE TODAY IF YOU CAN!!!

* Editor's Update: Aug. 31, 2005 - Our hearts go out to all who's lives have been effected by Hurricane Katrina in any way... volunteer workers included! You are all in our prayers every day!!!

About the Red Cross...

"The Red Cross is launching the largest mobilization of resources for a single natural domestic disaster in our history." (Hurricane Katrina, Disaster Relief- August 2005)

“The American Red Cross, as part of the worldwide Red Cross movement, has witnessed one of the greatest demonstrations of compassion and support in its 124-year history,” said Marsha J. Evans, President and CEO of the American Red Cross. “We are honored and inspired that so many Americans have confidence in the American Red Cross to turn their care and compassion into action. The generous outpouring of support has enabled us to provide immediate lifesaving aid as well as prepare to provide longer-term assistance to help rebuild families and communities." (Tsunami, Disaster Relief - 2005)

With your help, we are continuing to raise funds for the American Red Cross on an annual basis.  Here's what you can do...

* Support your local American Red Cross chapter and its broad range of lifesaving community services.

* Support the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which allows the Red Cross to provide relief during domestic disasters by providing food, shelter, clothing and mental health counseling to victims of disasters both large and small across the nation at a moments notice.

* Support the International Response Fund, an unrestricted funding source, that allows the American Red Cross to provide immediate assistance to those affected by crisis around the world.

To make a donation to the American Red Cross, please call 1-800-HELP-NOW, visit www.redcross.org, or contact your local American Red Cross chapter.

To volunteer, visit www.redcross.org/donate/volunteer/ to find the Red Cross unit nearest you.

New Update!  For information on donating non-cash items for disaster relief, please read www.redcross.org/donate/goods/.
