Living a Better Life
Announcing the Winners of Our 1st Annual Homemade Christmas Ornament Contest... FINALLY!
When I decided to start this contest last December I had no idea how much FUN it was going to be, or that it would take me THREE months to complete all the work it would require! But we will definitely be doing this again next year and every year that we can. (So crafters, be ready!) Please note that all the ornaments submitted were wonderful and we fell in love with many of them, this was NOT an easy contest to judge. We'd like to thank EVERYONE who participated!!!
Now, without further delay, I am delighted to announce the winners of our 2007 Homemade Christmas Ornament Contest... WHEW! Our First Place, $100.00 Winner is... "Birds-in-Pots" Submitted by Ingrid of CA
"My grandmother used to tell me that finding a bird on our Christmas tree would bring good luck in the new year. When I started making my own crafts, I wanted something different than a bird in a nest or clipped to a branch. It seemed reasonable that a bird might seek shelter in a flower pot so here we are!" Our Second Place, $50.00 Winner is... "Reindeer Light Bulb Ornaments" Submitted by Penny
"These are my 'Reindeer Light Bulb Ornaments' and they are made of, well... burnt out light bulbs. Recycling is a passion. These guys are for a friends 55th wedding anniversary gift. I hope they like them. To me they both are dears! :o)" View Directions for this Ornament Congratulations Penny!!!

And Our Third Place, $25.00 Winner is... "ANGELS: FAN-FOLDED WIRE RIBBON" Submitted by Lori Knowles of CA
"I bought some pretty wired ribbon with the wider 'edge' to them. It will work much better when folding the ribbon and you won't have the problem of wire 'popping out' at the end. I was able to buy some from the Dollar Tree. Of course, you can buy wired ribbon at Wal-Mart or any craft store, standard size, approx. 2.5 inches wide."
