Homemade Christmas Ornaments

"Lacy Paper Star Ornament"

I made a lacy paper star ornament.  It's special because it's handmade and I
used some old scrapbooking supplies that I haven't used in awhile.

Supplies needed:

double-sided paper
strong adhesive (double-sided tape works best)
exacto knife
cord/ribbon
glitter

Directions:

Trace the pattern on the paper & cut out with exacto knife.
Adhere the sides according to the pattern.
Add ribbon/cord to top of star.
Add jewels to the star.

Then I added homemade shimmer mist to the star. Shimmer mist can be expensive in craft stores but here's the directions to make your own:

Using 1 small spray bottle add 1/4 teaspoon of Pearl Ex mica powder (I chose silver) to the bottle and then fill with rubbing alcohol shake & spray I know it smells but the alcohol dries so fast & the powder needs something to cling to when it gets sprayed. Super easy & adds a nice glimmer to any paper project.

Project supplies used: Basic Grey paper, Heidi Swapp Jewels, Pearl Ex powder (from Stampin' Up or at craft stores), Glue Dots, & Stampin Up silver cord & Dazzling Diamonds glitter.
