Homemade Christmas Ornaments
"Canning Lid Ornament" Submitted by Kay C. Powers of VA
For years I have tried to figure out what to do with used
canning lids and this year I hit on the following idea. I simply cut a
round circle of felt and glued it to the center of the lid. I then
circled the felt with a piece of a small gold beaded garland I had
bought on sale just after last Christmas.
I then removed the shank from a decorative button (one I had saved from a garment) and glued that in the center of the felt. I then cut a second circle of felt and a ribbon to make a hanger. I glued the ribbon to the back of the lid and then glued the circle of felt over it to hide where I had glued the ribbon.
