Homemade Christmas Ornaments

"Rudolph the Flowerpot"
Submitted by Cheryl Troyer

I make a new ornament for my grandchildren every year. They look forward to their
"special" ornaments. This is an reindeer ornament made from a tiny terra cotta flower pot.
1. Turn the flowerpot upside down--paint a face on the front of flowerpot. I gave him a red nose, like
Rudolph. (Could use googly eyes.)
2. Cut a piece of twine (yarn or ribbon would work too) 10" long. Thread both ends through the hole on top of the pot. Pull through, making sure to leave a loop on top. (I pulled mine almost all the way through and tied a knot close to bottom of
pot. I then pulled the loop back up, making this knot against the inside top of pot. I tied another knot in the loop against the
outside top of pot.
3. Trim the ends of twine to where they just barely hang below the edge of pot. Hot glue a tiny jingle bell to each end of twine.
4. Hot glue a couple of small twigs to the top of pot to make the antlers.
I think this a cute ornament.
