Frugal Crafts & Homemade Gifts
Good-bye
Junk Drawer and What to Do With Those Coffee Cans! Here I am again with
another frugal idea, I just had to share my idea with you and the readers!
Items needed:
Empty coffee cans or similar containers Spray paint Foam alphabet letters Craft glue (if
the letters are not self-stick) Instructions:
I spray painted 9 coffee cans that I had sitting in the garage waiting for my next project. I used misc. spray paint that I had on hand, almost empty cans that wouldn't paint any large items and needed to be emptied soon anyway. Then I used some of my scrapbooking foam letters to put the alphabet on the cans. I used three letters per can. (see pictures)
My next move was to empty my junk drawers into the cans by sorting the objects alphabetically. Bag clips, batteries and bag ties in the A-B-C can, screws, sandpaper, soda can tops into the S-T-U can, and so on and so on. I'm lucky enough to have a craft table outside on my screened in porch and this is where I put my cans, but if your readers don't have a screened in porch, these cans are decorative enough to go in a laundry room or mud room.
It frees up kitchen drawer space and recycles the coffee cans and old spray paint. I love mine and I hope your readers enjoy this craft too. Thank you so
much for all of your work and frugal budgeting ideas. I look forward to
each issue. * * *
