Paper Mosaic Art

by Maria Mercedes

Here's an artsy craft made out of free paint strip samples!  You could also use other forms of decorated or painted paper.  More...

Materials:

Free color paint strips

Elmer's glue
Poster board
Transfer paper
Scissors
8x10 Picture frame

Tea Cup Pattern (see below, or make your own design)

Directions:

Transfer this pattern to an 8x10 poster board or thin cardboard (like a cereal box) using transfer paper. You can choose another size if you wish by enlarging or reducing this image.

Collect free paint strips. Choose colors that you feel most attracted to or colors that match your home décor. You can cut out the squares as big or as small as you’d like. Use Elmer's glue to paste squares down.

Work on sections at the time as your schedule allows you to. The more you work on paper mosaics, the more you realize that the cut squares don't have to be perfect or even the same size because the overall picture comes together perfectly with it's imperfections.

Frame your artwork.
