St. Patrick's Day!

Make Your Own Pot of Gold
by Michelle Jones

This cute little craft of treasure would be adorable for a St. Patrick's Day party or school class project!

I originally saw this craft project on an old holiday site but couldn't reach the owner.  So although I don't have a photo to share with you I'll do my best to figure out how to make it with a few of my own suggestions thrown in for good luck! ;o)

Items needed:

1 small clay flower pot (or really, even an empty plastic container from those mini-sized microwave snack/lunches will do, or even a small milk carton if this will be a class project!)

Gold paint (or you could use gold foil wrapping paper leftover from Christmas!)

A shiny gold pipe cleaner (or whatever the fancy name for this craft item is now called), cut in half

Plastic gold coins (I would prefer to use gold wrapped chocolate coins along with other small goodies available in March - such as green jelly beans, but anything 'treasure like' will do!)

Directions:

Paint or cover the 'pot of gold' with gold material of choice.

Then glue the ends of the gold pipe cleaner to each side of the pot, forming a curved handle.

Now just fill the pot with gold treasure!
