Frugal Recipes Michelle's Meals on a Budget Hot Mulled Cider In addition to our delicious Hot Cocoa Mix recipe, we hope you will enjoy cozying up by the fire with this hot beverage. These wonderful recipes are perfect for entertaining guests over the Christmas holidays, enjoy!
Ingredients: 8 c. apple cider 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed Dash of nutmeg 2 cinnamon sticks 1 tsp. whole allspice 1 tsp. whole cloves 8 thinly cut orange wedges 8 whole cloves small square of cheesecloth Directions: Combine apple cider, brown sugar and nutmeg in a large saucepan over medium high heat. Using the cheesecloth square, make a spice bag with cinnamon, allspice and the 1 tsp. of cloves - place in saucepan and bring cider mixture to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove spice bag and discard. Serve hot cider in coffee mugs with a clove-studded orange in each one. Recipe adapted from Better Homes & Gardens * * *
