Frugal Recipes Readers' Recipes Taco Rice This is a recipe that my family loves, I have 3 girls, all very picky eaters. I am always on the lookout for new and interesting recipes that I hope they will like. This is a recipe that I heard on a local radio station, some time ago from a call-in listener. I quickly wrote the recipe down and have since used it often. I think it is a "kid favorite." * * * Ingredients: 1 lb. ground hamburger meat Directions: Place oil in 12-inch non-stick skillet, add hamburger meat. Cook until no longer
pink inside, drain and add taco seasoning following package directions. Assemble plates
with the cooked rice on the first layer, then a layer of seasoned taco meat, chopped lettuce, tomatoes, onions and cheese, and sour cream and
salsa. The idea is to build your own taco without the fried tortilla. I like to make a "taco bar" and let my girls make their own plates, fun for
them, easy on mom!! Enjoy! * * *
