Thrifty Money-Saving Tips All
Occasion Gift Frames
I had recently
gone to several birthday parties, baby showers, wedding showers, and weddings.
All of these require a gift, but the cost alone for one event seemed too much.
I decided to have a standard type present that could be altered for each event.

What is the gift? A simple photo frame. I usually get a 5x7, so they recipient will be able to put a 4x6 picture easily in it. I buy the frames at the dollar store. They have really nice ones there. For a wedding I am going to, I am giving them two wedding frames that are the mirror type. In one, I'm putting their invitation. In the other, I'll leave blank for them to put a wedding photo in. I do this same thing for wedding showers. For birthday parties, I usually get a nice colored piece of paper (cardstock works best), to put in the frame. In a large font on the computer, I type "Happy Birthday (insert person's name)." Then I trim around the words with scissors and glue on the top or bottom of the frame leaving enough room to add a picture. I also make this same type of gift for baby
showers, except I write a special saying or phrase. This has saved me so
much money and allowed me to give a special gift. I often struggle with
gift registries and feeling obligated to buy off of them, but I have found that
people appreciate this gift just as much or even more. There are so many variations of frame sizes and creative ideas for decorating the inside of the frame, that the possibilities are endless. The best part - everything can be bought at the dollar store! * * * August 2010 Tip Rewards™ Winner!!!
