week, after the little one arrives, baby care items can run up new parents’
bill very quickly! Therefore, diapers, wipes, powder, lotion, baby wash,
diaper rash cream, etc., make great gifts because they are things that every
baby is going to need. With some planning, you can give a valuable gift

As soon as you hear that a bun is in the oven, start saving coupons and watch for sales on baby necessities. Over the course of 6-9 months, you can find great deals on the little things the new parents are going to need. Put them together in a nice basket (even a laundry basket from a dollar store will work) and *presto!* you have a very useful and thoughtful gift. You could line the basket with a receiving blanket or small, soft towels and add some pastel-colored bows, a rattle, or a small plush toy to really dress it up. Remember the baby’s needs will quickly change over the early months, in addition to newborn care items, put in things such as a spill-proof cup, a baby fork and spoon set, or a baby toothbrush and toothpaste. Convenience items that parents might not spend the money on for themselves but would find useful are also nice touches. Those things can include the disposable versions of bibs, changing pads and wash cloths. In the past year, I gave a baby gift with a retail value of $85 and only spent $50 (41% savings).
