Thrifty Money-Saving Tips Multi-Tasking
Timers
I wanted a
programmable Crock pot for Christmas. One of those big fancy ones with all the
bells and whistles. So when my children asked me what I wanted, I told them in
front of my husband (who would buy it for them to give to me). More...
He in turn gave my sister $40 and thought it would be enough. Well, my sister got me a nice BIG Crock pot with a lovely removable stoneware dish. She spent the $40 and it was not programmable. She said those things were more expensive and they were out of stock. I was upset but did not show it to my family; they did try! So, as I went later in the week to the "after-Christmas" sales to buy cheap wrapping paper for next year, I noticed they had Christmas tree timers on sale. Well there was my answer to a programmable Crock pot, buy a Christmas tree timer and set the time you want your Crock pot to turn on and then turn off. Your meal is done without over cooking. Now I have my own programmable Crock pot and I can use my old small Crock pot for side dishes with my method for programming!!! * * * February 2009 Tip Rewards Winner!!!
