Thrifty Money-Saving Tips Sell
it All
I
have two tips that have saved my family thousands per year. More...
I resell everything that I do not want or need anymore on Craigslist. This includes furniture, clothes, electronics, shoes, toys, books and even homemade baked goods. I take the money and keep it in a container at home, when it comes time to purchase one of my three kids, my husband or me something we need I have the cash on hand to purchase it. I go to the ads others have posted on Craigslist or to a resell shop so I never pay retail and I also help the world by going green and reusing items that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. For large items, and sometimes small there is a Yahoo Group called Freecycle. All one has to do is have a Yahoo e-mail account and sign up. Everything on Freecycle is free, I have given away things that I could not sell but still had life in them. I have also received a sofa in excellent condition from them along with plants and so many other wonderful things for my family and me. One great tip about Freecycle is that you can join more than one group in your area. (For example here in Texas; Fort Worth, Keller and Haltom City are all close by to pick up items!) Happy Savings!
(Editor's Note: Although we have been recommending Freecycle for many years and have featured a tip about CL before, we selected this as a winning tip because we love this reader's effort to completely "clean house" in order to make money for whatever new items their family needs. Certainly a worthy way to save money!) * * * May 2009 Tip Rewards Winner!!!
